# Restart Agents to Make Changes Active

With every change to a Flow (by clicking Save), you'll have a new Flow version. In order for those changes to take effect within your Agent (which puts Flows live by applying compute resources), you need to restart the agent and ensure you are selecting the latest Flow version.

If you have a new version of a Flow available, it will show 'Update Available' in your Flow Version column for your Agent.

On Agent restart, if there is a new Flow available you will also be prompted to select it.

If you need to revert to a previous Flow version simply use the Version Control feature, restore the Flow version you want to use (which will create a new / updated version number), and run that with your Agent.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.contextual.io/documentation-and-resources/components-and-data/flows/node-red-flow-editor/restart-agents-to-make-changes-active.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
